16 and growing...

We had these yummy breakfast on our 16th Anniversary! yeah..been married for 16 years, with 4 marvellous kids. Thanks Allah for this wonderful journey.

Hot air

We had a great time when the kids were home during the school holidays. Went to a hot air balloon fiesta in putrajaya. Quite an awesome show despite hot weather! We stayed till the last show and it was worth it.

thirty first december, twenty twelve :)

kids requested for a barbie again so i thought let's do it. esok dorang dah kena balik hostel dah. my house will be sunyi again..sob sob..lucky i have 2 other small girls to tickle and kiss kiss :)

we started before 6 pm, makan by 7, stopped halfway for maghrib and sambung again sampai perot dah full :)  bibik pon joined us after maghrib. it's lovely having bbq once a while. kids love to eat and we are happy to spend our precious time together as a family. Thanx Allah.  muga 2013 dikurniakan lebih barakah InShaAllah..

barbie on saturday

before 2012 closes its curtains, i thought that it would be great to have a barbecue with siblings and cousins.

so we had our barbie yesterday! my cousin came with laksam and yummy desserts.  my other cousin came with marinated chickens (4 whole chickens!). I prepared prawns, squids, drinks and fruits and of coz cozy BBQ place with lotsa LOVE :)  my bro came with sweet mangos and empty tummy. hehee..

we started grilling @ 4pm and had our tummy full by 7pm and ready for maghrib prayer.  they left at about 8 pm with smiles on the kids' faces. everyone had fun especially the kiddos. PRICELESS!

when we bid farewell, my cousin told me "we should do barbie again soon. so, next school hols will be in march! let's have it somewhere cooler...air terjun??" my replied was just "Let's!!!" :)) thanx Allah for the strong family bond between us and nothing beats FAMILY TIES :)

It's been a while since i last wrote.

Now that i have a newbie at home, i can blog anytime i want. not that i have fans over here on blogspot but heck! no one cares :)

School holidays is almost over. kids stuff lying here and there in my tiny home. once they are back in their school, i can have the house all for myself. not that the maid doesn't know how to kemas, but she dares not to touch the kids stuff before asking them. risau kot hilang or misplaced things, i always ask the kids themselves kemas their own things. easier that way.

we didn't have extravaganza plan during the school hols as the dad has no more cuti for the year (he needs the cuti for important days i.e 1st day of school etc)

so we headed to Melaka and PD for a short break.  went to his good friend's home in Melaka and went out for dinner together in Sg. Duyung for ikan bakar treat.

on our way back home, we singgah zoo melaka. kids had fun, hop on and off the tram and khadija was so thrilled when daddy let her ride the poney.

we thought of going to singapore to my uncle's place but the time doesn't permit us to do so. next time maybe.

Ballarat ~ twenty twelve

Before we head to ballarat, we had breakfast and roaming around the backyard.  kutip lemons and oranges! apple trees masih 'mati'.  if not, the kids wud have loved to kutip apples!

this time, baru nak spring...we could see bunga2 rumput baru keluar..pretty.  I've never experienced spring/autumn just yet. Insyaallah ada rezqi, i wanna experience mid spring/autumn.

masa ni baru sampai.  sejuk and drizzling. crowd baru nak building up.

i bought one of the cute signages with pretty wooden frame and hang it on my kitchen wall :)

too cold that we had to make a pit stop at the fire place.

 on our way back, we singgah IKEA after hantar the car. we walked in the cold for 10 good minutes! hehee..waited for our friends to pick us up :)

it was adam's birthday that day, so we got him a cake, some yummy biryani and pizza yg sangat lavish toppings dia! sedap nya smpaikan while typing this, i still terasa kesedapan dia kat tekak i nih..hehee

it was a good day indeed. Ballarat and Birthday do indeed made us happy. apa lagi dgn dikelilingi good friends and their charming kids. we're blessed.

Melbourne ~ twenty twelve

We bought 6 tickets to Melbourne, Australia 8 months early just to get a good bargain.  Once we started holidaying with the kids, x sampai hati to leave the kids whenever we have intention to go on holiday again.  x kesah la cuti-cuti malaysia or kalau we decide to go overseas lagi la kesian nak leave them back home. It was when we went to Istanbul - Madinah - Makkah last year je we left the kids with my inlaws and the maid.

so on the 4th raya, we took the afternoon flight to Melbourne.  kids were superb coz you juz need to feed them whenever they feel hungry just to make them quiet. haha...We reached there at midnite, hubs got our rented mpv and we waited for our friend to come and 'pick' us up. There's a gps in the car, but our friend didn't want us to lost our way in the middle of the night as gps sometimes can go crazy. showing you mengarut roads which will detour you to nowhere! so kind of our friends to not wanting that thing happen to us :)



we bunked in for the night at their house after had a delish mee campbell.  it was so nice of her.  she cooked for us walaupon the kids dah kenyang from the rounds of meals dalam flight.  My friend and her hubs with 4 kids are in Melbourned doing their PHD for 3 years.

Day 1

We started the next morning early.  We went to Phillip Island and later to a small Kangaroo place coz khadija wanted to have a glimpse of kanga and the roos. so we obeyed :)

it was cold. and windy. orang cakap, kat phillip island ni masa summer pon maseh sejuk. we didn't wait for penguin watch sbb maghrib awal. kids were cold and tired. we gave it a pass. ada rezqi bila2 sampai lagi Insyaallah..

on our way back, the dad wanted to singgah at the circuit..penuh dgn kangaroos jugak. hehee..

daddy was happy and so did the kids :) off we went home to kejar time coz we need to send the car back to the car rental co.

hubs wanted to extend the car, so here we're trying our luck and hoped that the car will be available for the next day. and yes, it did :) Alhamdulillah. so, kids..esok bangun awal lagi sbb nak jalan lagi :)

howdy folks!
how's your weekend? mine was tiring but indeed it was a great weekend.
My friend and her family came to our house on Saturday for tea.  With her whole lot. They are back from Melbourne for a month.  I guess i should plan for a holiday for both families. It would be fun! coz my kids love theirs and they love us! hahaa.. I cooked kuzi ayam, fried meehoon and i ordered yummy cake from That Last Slice ~ her cakes are wonderful. you can get them from Tea Republic BV and also at The Bee.
We took the girls out for a movie @ TGV, KLCC on Sunday. It was Hotel Transylvania Sunday. Great movie! I laughed like crazy sampai air mata pun keluar..hahaaa!!

 *love this daddy-lil' girl-moment...Mavis (Selena Gomez) is Drac's daughter...I didn't expect that Drac is a lovely father and he can sing and rap at the same time! walla!

*this is Johnny..who's very funny, clumsy and outspoken guy. He travels a lot and He's Marvis' zing..hehee..

Love 'em all...Definitely will watch over and over again when they appear on telly :)

Changes

I am...OLD. Capital letter. nothing else matter. Nada! sebab tadi i jumpa white hair on my head! dush!

yes. i think i am old. coz my kids are growing taller, bigger, more handsome (he's handsome enough for me oh yeah! at least there are some cute girls in his school like him -the kakak told me that- hahaaa), cuter, wiser, etcetra etcetra.  O Allah! please guide us to be better ummah.

but of coz there are loads of improvement needed. kakak will b sitting for her PMR exam next year (head will start pounding from : NOW!). bukan nak risau lebih but living in Malaysia with weird kinda education system, i have to be worried. but that comes with du'a and hardwork. Insyaallah ada rezqi my kids berjaya both in dunia and akhirat.

talking about weird education and school system here in Malaysia, i was so sad when my 8yo daughter came home with a sad face yesterday. she is a prefect in her school but after some 'setoopid' kinda interview and appraisal done at school, she will not be one next year. how could you see your child sangat upset that she's no longer needed  to berkhidmat untuk sekolah anymore. what should you tell them? she's not the only one been dropped. there are many more poor kids yang telah dilucutkan jawatan. and  the the appraisal form was not well prepared. well, it has her name written there, apart from that, the particulars and details were not filled up. 

she's my 3rd child with many antics. yes, she didn't score that well in her final exam which just ended last week! buy hey! i consider 90% and above for all subjects are good. good job well done Sofie! you are my star.  as i argued with my hubs, apakah kriteria2 yang diperlukan untuk seseorang budak itu menjadi pengawas? we cudn't figured it out. you have to be smart, yes i think she's okay. not the smartest but she's smart alright, Alhamdulillah. you have to be one good kid. yes, she has antics but kat school she's fine. that's what i heard from her class teacher last year. she's a good kid alright. you have to be discipline. yes, i think she fits that well. what else? well i don't see why she can't teruskan perjalanan dia as a prefect next year and the years after.  note to teachers, better jgn ambik small kids pikul tanggungjawab tu. appoint masa dorang besar sket. what do you expect them to answer the questions asked during the interview.  but i told her nevermind, let's be positive. you could be a better student. we will improve that together Insyaallah. but my message to the teachers, you better work your system out. buat betul2. kids will be demoralized. i know my girl is sbb at last of our conversation, she said "it's okay ibu. mana tau entah2 sofie dpt jadi ketua kelas next year?" see? she is sad. period.
